Government legislation means that only SEDBBUK band A and  B rated boilers can be fitted. As only Condensing boilers can reach this efficiency means only that kind of boiler can be fitted legally. There are exceptions to this rule but they're exceedingly difficult to meet and rarely achievable. Condensing Boilers are more efficient then ever before and will save you money on running costs. Their prices are now more competitive than ever. Combis are now the number one selling boiler for gas central heating in the UK. They have
been proven steadfast, reliable and tough. Some Combis will fit into the average cupboard.
They are also economical to run and can produce an endless stream of hot water. However
this flow can be limited if other taps are running simultaneously.

The Combi does provide almost instantaneous hot water, literally on tap, whenever you need
it, with no waste!

Coupled with this there is no storage cylinder to heat first, or to run cold! and no tanks
to find space for.

Types of Condensing Boilers.

Three main types of boiler are offered.

Combination Boilers  - known as Combis.

Regular (also know as Conventional) Boilers.

System Boilers.

Baxi High Efficiency Combi boiler.

Combis.

Only used on a sealed system. These supply Domestic Hot Water (DHW) on demand directly from the boiler, some special Combis store an amount of Hot Water ready for instantaneous supply. They also cover the heating system requirements of the household by either radiators (or to give them their posh title - heat emitters) or by underfloor heating. Suitable for the vast majority of Households with up to 4/5 adults.

Regular.

These type of boiler usually heat Domestic Hot Water via a storage tank such as a traditional copper DHW Cylinder or as part of a sealed heating system with an unvented DHW tank. More adaptive to various of heating designs in larger properties. Because of advances in technology on boiler heat exchangers, many can now be wall mounted, in the past, virtually all were floor mounted. Usually selected when DHW demand is greater than could be supplied by a Combi.

System.

This type of boiler is similar to a combi without the domestic hot water heating. Different from a regular boiler in that there's a pump inside board. These are used in households with 2 bathrooms, plus en-suite bathrooms with upwards of 5 people using these facilities regularly. Again used where the demand for hot water will be greater than can be supplied comfortably by a combi.
